At Nantasket Beach in Hull Last Weekend

Eamon, Conor, and Desmond on the beach; I think Desmond is holding a shell that Conor found.

Conor, Desmond (foreground), and Eamon

I wanted to get one shot of the boys on the old carousel across the street from the beach, but this picture was unfortunately backlit.

More Time at Nantasket Beach

Here are Desmond, Eamon, and Conor playing in what was basically a really large tidal pool.

They were looking for shells and whatever living sea creatures they could find.

This kept them occupied for quite a while after I asked them to come in from their favorite beach activity, which was letting the waves crash over them. They seemed to be getting pretty cold out there, but the water in this little pool was much warmer.

Two Day Trips from Hyde Park to Downtown Chicago and the near North Side

This is a picture of the guys in front of one of the most interesting buildings in Chicago.
Desmond, posing adorably in front of "Sue" at the Field Museum.
And Desmond getting tired of pictures.
Here are a couple of attempts to take a picture of the whole family by holding the camera out in front of us. So, we obviously misjudged both times and captured Conor, Desmond, Adam, and part of me and Eamon.

An Afternoon at the Point in Hyde Park

Here's what Desmond was doing while Adam, Conor, and Eamon were chasing waves.

Choppy Waters on Lake Michigan

Eamon, Adam, and Conor had a great time chasing huge waves along the wall at Promontory Point in Hyde Park. There's a great view of the Chicago sky line behind them.

I kept missing great shots of waves coming up above their heads and crashing against the wall. Oh, well.

Watching "Toy Story" on the laptop at our room in Chicago

Eamon, Desmond, and Conor are watching a movie with Grandpa Jim back at "base" (as Eamon liked to call it) at the end of a long day of sight seeing.

The Japanese Garden in Jackson Park behind the Museum of Science and Industry

Eamon, looking contemplative at the water's edge Conor, happy to be back at the Japanese Garden; the boys really did have fun running around and splashing in the water here. We were joined for a while by a family of ducks, but I don't seem to have captured them on film.
Carol and Desmond are enjoying a walk along the little path around the pond.
Eamon enjoyed flirting with disaster at the top of the mini waterfall; modelling dangerous behavior for his younger brother was an added bonus.
