New York City, July 20

This was one of the highlights of the trip, a set of chimes that is built into the sidewalk in Battery Park that you play by stomping on those metal squares. Not only is it fun to jump around on, but the chimes are actually really beautiful to listen to.
Here we are on a ship called the Peking at South Street Seaport Museum. Below are a picture of me and Desmond and some random worker at the museum (with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background) and a picture of me realizing that the random worker had been in the first picture.

New York City, July 19

Adam, Conor, and Eamon outside the Central Park Zoo, where we went after finding that the guy who usually rents radio-controlled boats on the Duck Pond was inexplicably absent that day. Luckily, going to a playground and getting soaked in a fountain (if you look closely you can see that their clothes are still damp) and then hitting the zoo prevented the gang from despairing.

Trip to NYC, Part I, July 18 and 19

These are pictures from our first night in NYC, at a restaurant called Patsy's, where we went with Grandpa Jim. Also, there are 3 pics from our visit the next day to the American Museum of Natural History.

Just call him Johnny Jump-up

Desmond resting before his workout with his new exercise equipment.

I think he's working on building up his muscles so that he'll be able to perform the almost-within his-grasp task of rolling from back to tummy. So far, he rolls onto his side and then gets stuck. Yesterday I saw him roll from tummy to back for the first time, though Eamon tells me he's been doing that for days now. Go Desmond!

Canoeing on the Charles River

Eamon and Conor with our brand new canoe at Broadmoor, a Mass Audubon wildlife sanctuary. They canoed there with Adam today. Adam and I are on the lookout for symptoms of waterborne diseases in Eamon after moments like this where he put his wet and dirty little fingers in his mouth.
Below is a series of pictures taken by Conor, aspiring photographer:

Fourth of July at the Boston Public Garden

Behind Adam and Desmond in this picture you can just make out a swan that was working on building a nest right next to the pond.

Just a cute picture of Conor

Some pics of Desmond

Desmond is obsessed with looking at his hands and putting them in his mouth lately; he's also getting fairly big for the car seat and ends up pushing himself almost out of it by squirming around unless he's buckled in these days. To his right, you can see Mr. Bubbles, one of his new favorite toys (made by my coworker Lorrie).

The Queen Who Couldn't Bake Gingerbread at TCAN on June 7, 2006

Eamon is playing King Pilaf, a character with a deep voice and a deep interest in the props and costumes.
